Blah, blah, blah

Another Brutal Police Beating

February 19, 2008 · 13 Comments

The police officer–Wiley Willis– brutally beat her after she asked to make a phone call, assuming it her legal right:
“You’re not going to let me call anybody? I have a right to call somebody right now and I know that. Is this on the record?”

Officer Willis handcuffed her and then turned off the camera while he beat her. When it was turned back on, she was lying in a pool of her own blood.

Before and After

The woman was arrested for suspected DWI last November 17. She refused the Breathalyzer and wanted to make a phone call. Officer Willis left her in a pool of her own blood with two black eyes, a broken nose, and two broken teeth. Tolerable? Yes, according to the police chief.

Chief Whitehorn said, “After reviewing the evidence, we decided it was something that needed to be handled internally and there was not enough to pursue criminal charges.”

But Officer Wiley Willis was fired over the weekend when the tapes became public, after three months of being on administrative leave. And he is appealing his dismissal.

Disgusting.

This is really shocking. How is it possible to defense that kind of violence as nessesary force?

You must have a serious problem with the attitude in the police in US.

The Police in norway is the only one that have authority to use force against other citizens. A good policeman are able to solve very difficult situations with minimum of force.

The fact that this people are wearing uniform and are respected as a authority demands a behavior so that the citizens respect them. When the police begin with criminal acts like this, they loose the common respect.

The police should protect us. The police have to be able to handle people in very different situations….like phycoses and difficult behavior.

When the police defens themself with the argue that the handcuffed woman was so difficult that they do not have anthother choice. I think that is to tell the hole world that they are not abel to do good policework. Or it tells me that they have a attitude problem to people who in different ways are in theire custody.

I am shocked. I dont think the police in Norway are perfeckt, but I have never heard of such thing here.

    Multippel,

Most police officers in the US are good officers. However it just takes one bum to make the rest look bad. I wrote about this incident as well as 2 others last week on my blog.

Has anyone considered why he would even turn the video camera back on?? They have said it is consistent with policy to turn it off after someone refuses a sobriety test. So why did he even bother to turn it back on????

This is just like when the police beat up a girl at Reagan National Airport in DC. She has permanent brain damage as a result of the police beating. We need to halt this epidemic of police brutality against women.

Wiley did not beat this woman. She was in handcuffs and fell, that is what happened and the wound patterns confirm it. The media does not tell you how many accidents she was involved in before she made it to the stations. You people need to stop blindly following the media and realize there is more to the story.

I am a Black man in the United States. If this were a mere pushing and handcuffing of a suspect, then I would normally say, welcome to the club. BUT NO!!! This was animal criminal behavior. No one has a right to beat someone like that without their life being threatened. I highly dobt that was the case. If it was a fact that, that police officer turned the camera off and proceeded to beat that woman until what she looked like in the photos, then a criminal act certainly took place and the police department is fully responsible for this behavior. I was surprised to see that no one else was assisting. That was strange. The alledged suspect should chilled out & let the process take its place. He could have detained her without that result. They have poles that you can ‘cuff people to until further processing.

Yea, she fell down on herself in handcuffs and gave herself two black eyes, stitches, bruising up & down her body and a bloody lip. She got up each time and said , ” Now lets go for the left eye now”. Bam! ” One more time” ! She also walked into his fists ten times or so. What is wrong with you? Seriously. If that was your sister, you would not even begin to utter any of what you are trying to convince us rational, sound people
of. Now, repeat after me. “D-e-l-u-s-i-o-n-a-l” .

I can’t look again at the videotape of that m—-r-f—–g pig, Willis, who brutally beat that unarmed woman. That disgusting pile of walking garbage is doing exactly that…walking the streets freely without any punishment whatsoever. Losing his job doesn’t count for obvious reasons. No one has the right to do what that piece of dog shit did. Welcome to America!

I saw a woman fall after a police officer tried to move her. That is what is in the video. What is not in the video is a police officer actually striking this woman.

I thought everyone was supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around.

The police officer clearly shoves her repeadedly into various walls while remaining calm and she disappears from view as she is wheeled into the walls..and he blocks camera view at one point and there seems to be footage missing from video after that….convenient…yet if you look at her face before that begins she has no marks.
So those of you whom can not see that far need to get your eyes checked…police brutality is real and there are more of them then we know..they are in essence nothing more then a protected gang.

Only a coward would handcuff a person unable to defend themselves and proceed to beat them until they bleed….knowing they are helpless!
These monsters need to be stopped…Miami is known for this behavior!
When is someone willing to take a stand and put this to rest!
